CompTIA Security+ exam SY0-701 launched November 2023. This exam focuses on skills needed for the following tasks:
- Assess the cybersecurity posture of an enterprise environment.
- Recommend and implement appropriate cybersecurity solutions.
- Monitor and secure hybrid environments.
- Operate with an awareness of applicable laws and policies including principles of governance, risk, and compliance.
- Identify, analyze and respond to cybersecurity events and incidents.

Background. CompTIA recommends that Security+ certification candidates have their CompTIA Network+ certification, along with two years of technical networking experience, with an emphasis on security.
